World Coastal Championship Bronze for Monika!

Congratulations to Monika Dukarska who finished 3rd in the single sculls at the 2008 World Coastal Championships which were held in San Remo Italy at the weekend.

This was a gruelling event which saw the competitors rowing 8 km over a rectangular course in the open sea! In some races the sea was so rough and the waves so big that some competitors found themselves being tossed out of their boat and had to climb back in again!!

Monika came in with a time of 48 minutes with two French competitors ahead of her.

Veronica Kingston was also in the W1x single sculls finals and finished in 12th place. Well done to all for competing and surviving!
