Good luck in the Exams and in Carlow :-)

First of all, a big GOOD LUCK to all those doing state exams Kelley, Aileen, Cian and Fionan (hopefully I haven’t left anyone out :-)

Also best of luck at the Carlow Regatta, I won’t be around, so let me know how you do and takes lots of photos!!!

Looks like I’ll be able to go to Carlow afterall but best of luck anyway :-)

Bantry Regatta May 2009

Here are some photos from the Bantry Regatta

This is just a very quick update: well done to Caoimhe, Kerrie and Tara in their first race in a quad and a big thank you to Niamh in stroke and Agnieszka as cox in guiding them along. They did very well and made it into the finals! The final of the WJ14 4X+ was won by the Killorglin crew of Maeve, Caoimhe, Meabh and Aoife, coxed by Katie, well done.

The WJ15 4X+ did very well as well and won their straight final with Kelley, Aileen, Cliodhna and Aisling with Kerrie coxing. A special well done to Aileen for her first win as part of the crew!

The WJ14 double of Meabh and Caoimhe did very well to come from behind to win their final against Bantry.

The WJ15 double of Kelley and Aisling were caught in the closing stages of their final to be beaten into second place by Bantry.

The rest of the days racing was cancelled due to very windy conditions developing in the afternoon.

Also thanks to Bantry rowing club for helping us out with a loan of a quad for the U14 B crew!! Very much appreciated.

Next stop: Carlow :-)

Twitter support added

It is now possible to keep up to date with club news by using the Twitter widget on the right hand side. Twitter (www.twitter.com) allows text messages to be displayed on the web, so if we are at a regatta for example and you’d like to keep up to date with how we’re getting on then I just need to text the latest news and it’ll appear on the site. At a later stage then I can do a proper blog update but at least you can follow progress without having to wait for the blog update.

Thanks to James Kennedy for setting up agtweet.com that allows people in Ireland to tweet using an Irish mobile number.

Cool ;-)

New pages added

At long last I’ve added some info to the About Us page. The info here I got from the old KRC website which is no longer active on the net, so if there is more info or clarification to add please let me know!

Also I’ve added some archive photos, some photos on the club house construction and the opening speech. I also found the article Fiola Foley did when she was on a rowing scholarship to Boston University.

These links are all available from our About Us page.

Enjoy :-)
