On the 24th July 2010 two athletes from Killorglin Rowing Club took part in Home Internationals held in National Rowing Centre in Inniscarra, Co. Cork. It is an event held between Ireland, England, Scotland and Wales. It is run in a form of straight finals over 2000m course. The races are divided into Junior, Senior and Under23 categories. Ireland was represented by two very ambitious Killorglin rowers– Maeve McGillycuddy (15) and Aileen Crowley(16). Maeve was rowing in a Junior Coxed Four with two girls from St.Michaels Rowing Club and one from Cork Boat Club, coming 1st in a very tight race against an English crew. Aileen Crowley was rowing in a Junior Eight taking comfortable first place over England, Wales and Scotland. The girls have spend a week in a camp preparing for this event. Maeve McGillycuddy have represented Ireland last year at the Homes held in Nottingham. It was first green jersey for Aileen. We are all proud of our girls. Big well done to both of them.
