The second grand league regatta of 2012 season was a disappointment for many crews, as they arrived on the venue on Saturday 26th of May. The strong winds on the day prohibited hundreds of crews from competing, with only few crews leaving the pontoon. Killorglin Rowing Club athletes raced the Women’s Junior 18 coxless quad of Molly Sullivan, Zoe Hyde, Emma Murphy and Kerri Fay finishing 4th and qualifying into B Final later on that evening. Matthew O’Connor also managed to get out rowing, however races were cancelled shortly after. Regatta was cancelled after taking a break for an hour, with Clubs packing and heading back home.
Many of our athletes have visited the Kildare Village Shopping Centre, making it an exciting weekend anyway.
Also, big thanks to Marie and Ben for rescuing the boat trailer and getting our coach and secretary back home.
