Dukarska returns to Dorney Lake, the 2012 Olympic Games regatta course for the World Cup.
Monika Dukarska will represent Ireland at the second senior World Cup of the season held at Eton, Dorney Lake in Great Britain on June 22/23rd. The first World Cup was held in Sydney, Australia where only minority of crews travelled. The World Cup in Dorney is expected to attract large numbers of athletes as well as spectators. It is said to be the biggest rowing event of 2013 season, as the World Senior Championships this year are held in August in South Korea.
Monika will race in the Women’s Senior Double Scull event, where she will pair up with Leonora Kennedy, the ex GB rower but formally Enniskillen Rowing Club, who returned to Ireland this season.
The women’s double trialed over the weekend winning both trial pieces and scored over 92% of GMT (Gold medal time %) both times.
Monika raced at Eton Dorney back in 2010 where she won both the Elite and Senior singles at the Wallingford regatta for Killorglin Rowing Club. Monika is Killorglin’s and Kerry’s first heavyweight senior rower to race and wear the green jersey at a World Cup regatta.
Two weeks after returning from World Cup Monika will travel to Kazan in Russia, where she will represent Ireland and the Institute of Technology Tralee at the World University Games. Monika will race in the Women’s Senior Single Scull event.
