…all the hard work pays off on days like today!
Three wins for Killorglin Rowing Club ladies, some close races and some more work to be done before the next event by others.
Anna Tyther and Rhiannon ODonoghue won Final 1 of the Women’s Junior 15 Double Scull. Alanna Dolan and Hannah Joy took the win in the Final 2 of the same event only a few minutes later. Mara Tracey and Molly OGrady fell short to finish second in the Final 3 of the same event.
Another victory came in the Women’s Junior 15 Quad where Mara Tracey, Rhiannon ODonoghue, Anna Tyther, Hannah Joy and Alanna Dolan rowed a superb race leading from the start and opening up a significant lead over other competitions. Their rowing was long and controlled.
The Men’s Junior 18 Four showed some great potential, fighting to the line in their heat. It was a good performance from a crew that was formed only a few weeks ago. Similarly, Sean Houlihan and Michael OConnor missed out on their final in the Men’s Junior 16 single sculls and raced a tough race in the Men’s Intermediate double scull. Caragh Edwards placed 4th in the Women’s Intermediate Single Scull final while Cathal ODonovan was second in his heat.
Well done to all of our rowers.
Another day of racing tomorrow – this time for the Schools!
