Huge congratulations to all Killorglin Rowing Club athletes who competed at the National Indoor Rowing Championships in the UL Arena yesterday.
Our youngest competition, just 10 years of age – Airida Mateviciute won two silver medals in the Women’s Junior 13 3minute race and 500m sprint.
James McCarthy placed 3rd in the country in the Men’s Junior 18 2kilometers race and 500meters sprint. It was a personal best of 6:26.9. A total of 125 athletes entered the event this year!
Aidan McCarthy won the Men’s Junior 15 500m sprint with 53 juniors competing in this race.
Monika Dukarska finished 2nd in the Women’s Open 2000m race and set a Personal Best time of 6:52.6. That’s 5 seconds better than her previous personal best. In the afternoon, Monika set another personal best and National Record in the Women’s Open 500m sprint. Monika pulled 1:32.4, shredding nearly 2 seconds of her previous national record of 1:34.1.
Also well done to Cathal O’Donovan, Rhiannon O’Donoghue and Anna Tyther on setting new personal best scores.
