Limerick and National Schools Regattas

Best of luck to Rhiannon O’Donoghue, Anna Griffin, Katie Boyle, Anna Tyther and Mara Treacy representing the Club at Limerick Regatta in O’Briens Bridge today. The girls are competing in the Women’s Junior 16 quad. There are 12 entries in the event. First race is at 9:44am followed by a final later in the afternoon.

The Limerick regatta as well as the Irish Schools regatta, which takes place on Sunday, the 23rd of April is run over a four-lane, 1,500 metre buoyed course.

The Schools regatta attracted a record number of entries this year with almost 500 crews from over 70 schools across the country travelling to the event. The Schools Regatta started in 2006 and the Intermediate School Killorglin won the Victor Ludorum Trophy in 2007 and 2011 for the most successful school at the Regatta.

Mara Treacy, Rhiannon O’Donoghue, Molly O’Grady, Anna Tyther and Alanna Dolan will represent the Intermediate School Killrglin this Sunday in the Women’s Junior 16 quad. There are 16 entries in this race category. That race is at 10am.

Also, best of luck to James McCarthy racing for the Presentation Secondary School Milltown in the Men’s Under23 single, double and a four.
